Community Safety

The Community Safety working group began from a Freedom of Information Act request into 911 call data in Edgewater to better understand why our neighbors call the police. We have continued to look at data while also expanding our focus to other aspects of community safety, including sharing resources on alternatives to policing and discussing safety issues facing our neighborhood. Our group wants to work toward a vision of community safety shaped by adequate access to resources, community care, and solidarity - not policing and prisons.

Virtual meetings are typically the third Wednesday of the month from 7-8pm.
